The right of return for Palestinian Nakba refugees is KEY to justice.
حق العودة للاجئي النكبة الفلسطينيين هو مفتاح العدالة. 

Many Palestinians still have keys to the homes that they lived in before the start of the Nakba in 1948, when Zionist militias forcibly expelled 750,000 Palestinians from their land they had lived on for generations. Palestinians kept their keys because they were convinced they would come back after the Zionist onslaught had ended; they left food warm and uneaten on tables, clothes hanging to dry, treasured possessions in their safe places. But Zionists violently prevented Palestinian refugees from returning to their homes, and, in 1950, the fledgling Israeli government created the Absentee Property Law, which declared Palestinian refugees “absent” and allowed the state to seize their property. Today, many of those homes are destroyed or inhabited by Israelis.

Palestinian refugees and their descendants number over 5.6 million and are the largest and longest-standing population of displaced people in the world. Most of them live in camps in Gaza, the West Bank, and neighboring countries like Jordan and Lebanon, where they are forced to rely on the severely-underfunded United Nations Relief and Works Agency for bare survival.

This injustice — this crisis — cannot continue. We advocate for boycotting, divesting from, and sanctioning Israel until Palestinians get their right of return — and you should, too.

ولا يزال العديد من الفلسطينيين يملكون مفاتيح منازلهم التي كانوا يعيشون فيها قبل بداية النكبة عام 1948، عندما طردت الميليشيات الصهيونية قسراً 750 ألف فلسطيني من أراضيهم التي عاشوا عليها لأجيال. احتفظ الفلسطينيون بمفاتيحهم لأنهم كانوا مقتنعين بأنهم سيعودون بعد انتهاء الهجوم الصهيوني. لقد تركوا الطعام دافئًا وغير مأكول على الطاولات، والملابس معلقة حتى تجف، والممتلكات الثمينة في أماكنهم الآمنة. لكن الصهاينة منعوا اللاجئين الفلسطينيين بعنف من العودة إلى ديارهم، وفي عام 1950، أنشأت الحكومة الإسرائيلية الوليدة قانون أملاك الغائبين، الذي أعلن أن اللاجئين الفلسطينيين “غائبون” وسمح للدولة بالاستيلاء على ممتلكاتهم. واليوم، تم تدمير العديد من هذه المنازل أو سكنها إسرائيليون.

ولا يمكن لهذا الظلم – هذه الأزمة – أن يستمر. نحن ندعو إلى مقاطعة إسرائيل وسحب الاستثمارات منها ومعاقبتها حتى يحصل الفلسطينيون على حقهم في العودة – ويجب عليك أن تفعل ذلك أيضًا.
